Yesturday's poll of SMG/KRC reported on 9% decrease in CP's (pl.: PO) backup. Today, GFK Polonia in report prepared for "Rzeczpospolita" publishes just opposite data. CP has lost only 1% of backup, and 49% of questioned declare voting on this formation. Law and Justice (pl.: PiS) has 26% backup and DLA (pl.: SLD) is the strongest ever - according to GFK Polonia DLA can count on 12% backup. PPP (pl.: PSL) almost at the edge of threshold - 6%.
Commentary:
We've entered into 'year of elections' and we should expect more and more polls publicized. Centers analyzing public opinion and press started a race - who's going to forecast the result? We live in polls' democracy and we have to agree to it. Opinion polls form Poles' views like self-fulfilling prophecy. More and more people start to believe, that we can only choose in two strong and two weak parties - ratings of out-of-parliament formation are confirmation. Will it be like that until elections? Not necessarily. Andrzej Olechowski candidature may escalate DP's (pl.: SD of Paweł Piskorski) ratings. Tusk will get worn out and dissonance between him and Schetyna may get bigger. CP, after eventual decision of Tusk to take part in president elections, may mire in fratricidal battle for power. The conclusion is, that stable ratings for 4 main parties CAN change.
