Houndred-million-party? Maybe right, but not has to be.

Opinion

According to 'Rzeczpospolita', Sebastian Drobczyński, a specialist in political marketing, claims that in Poland, to reach 10% backup, a party needs at least 100 million PLN during few years. That's true, money is necessary, but in the age of internet not necessarily that much.

It is shown by the success of individual candidates, who were starting from further positions on CP's and L&J's lists. A modest theologist, not had been known before, thanks to Radio Maryja support, had almost outran a leader of the list, Ryszard Czarnecki. Similar case with Rafał Trzaskowski. Not well-known doctor of politology have outran a famous satirist, Tadeusz Ross. Possible? Possible.

Poll's successes of Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz are also worth mentioning. The senator, being present in politics marginally during recent years, has been remembered as a good prime minister and a good leader of Foreign Office, and Pole's still remark they would vote on him in president elections, despite he's not about to candidate.

In present-day political system money is essential, especially because main players are significantly donated by the Budget. Arguments for financing parties by Budget are obvious: it prevents a party from becoming an agency of interests of corporations and the richest people. But it's possible to do something that would make dispute more substantial and reduce the financial threshold that hampers coming-into-being in politics. It's worth looking at a french model. Advertising on billboards and TV is prohibited. In such a situation, not another silly advertising campaign, but real opinions, ideas and political programs are under discussion.
